Prepare for CompTIA Network+ through an RDE certification-preparation route covering networking concepts, infrastructure, operations, security, troubleshooting and the implementation and support of connected environments.
CompTIA Network+ is a vendor-neutral networking certification for professionals who configure, support, troubleshoot and secure wired and wireless networks. RDE offers a certification-preparation route aligned to the current CompTIA Network+ objectives.
What the preparation covers
The route develops understanding of networking concepts, infrastructure and connectivity, IP addressing, network operations, monitoring, security, troubleshooting and the practical support of connected environments. Learners also build awareness of cloud, virtualisation and modern network architectures where they form part of the current certification objectives.
Exam and certification
RDE does not currently include a CompTIA exam voucher with this preparation route. Candidates register for and pay for the official CompTIA examination separately through CompTIA's current authorised exam-booking process. CompTIA awards the certification after successful completion of the applicable assessment.
Who this route is for
This route is suitable for junior network administrators, infrastructure and support professionals, service desk staff and learners progressing from general IT support into networking and infrastructure roles.
Entry guidance
CompTIA recommends A+ knowledge or certification and nine to twelve months in a junior network administration or support role.
Practical preparation
Draw a small network, plan addressing and explain how you would diagnose a connectivity failure. These are suggested practice activities. RDE will confirm the preparation format and any available lab access before enrolment.
Assessment format
The current N10-009 assessment lasts 90 minutes, with a maximum of 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions. Check the official booking process for current delivery and identification requirements.
Validity and renewal
Three years from award; renew before expiry through an eligible CompTIA Continuing Education route. Eligible renewal activities, evidence and fees depend on the credential and renewal path. Check the official policy before arranging renewal.
