Prepare for and complete the Scrum Master Certified (SMC®) route through RDE’s VMEdu partner access, with official learning materials, examination access and certification issued by SCRUMstudy after successful assessment.
Scrum Master Certified (SMC®) is an official SCRUMstudy certification route available through RDE’s VMEdu Authorised Training Partner access. It is designed for professionals who want to develop the knowledge and capability required to facilitate Scrum teams, support effective Scrum practice and understand the responsibilities of the Scrum Master role.
What the preparation covers
Learners work through the official certification learning package and prepare for the applicable SCRUMstudy assessment. The route develops understanding of Scrum roles, events, artefacts, principles, team facilitation, impediment removal and the practical responsibilities associated with effective Scrum Master practice.
Exam and certification
RDE can assign candidates through its authorised VMEdu partner portal. The assigned route includes official training materials and the applicable certification examination. The certification is issued by SCRUMstudy after the candidate successfully satisfies the examination requirements. Course access is provided for up to 180 days under the current partner package.
Who this route is for
This route is suitable for professionals moving into Scrum Master, Agile delivery, project delivery or team facilitation responsibilities, and for experienced practitioners who want a recognised Scrum credential.
Entry guidance
There is no formal prerequisite. Scrum Developer Certified knowledge is recommended but is not mandatory.
Practical preparation
Create a sample sprint plan, identify impediments and practise facilitating a retrospective. Explain how you would help a team improve delivery without taking ownership of every task. These are suggested practice activities, rather than additional issuer prerequisites.
Assessment format
The current SMC assessment is an online, unproctored multiple-choice exam with 100 questions and 120 minutes. Confirm the current booking instructions when your partner access is assigned.
Validity and renewal
SCRUMstudy lists a three-year recertification cycle. Its published options include the relevant recertification exam or another certification from the same issuer. Check the current policy before arranging renewal. The 180-day learning-access period is separate from credential validity.
Career development
Use the credential alongside practical evidence and relevant experience. It can support a development conversation with employers, but it does not guarantee a role, salary or promotion.
