RDE Coding Academy

The RDE Coding Academy helps learners develop the logical thinking, technical foundations and disciplined working habits required to build software. Learners progress from understanding code to creating, testing and improving practical solutions.

The Academy focuses on active development rather than passive instruction. Learners practise programming concepts, problem decomposition, debugging, version control and collaborative delivery through structured exercises and projects.

What you can expect

  • Programming logic, variables, conditions, loops and functions
  • Problem decomposition and algorithmic thinking
  • Writing readable, maintainable and reusable code
  • Debugging, error handling and systematic testing
  • Version control and collaborative development practice
  • Working with data, files, services and application components
  • Project evidence for entry-level development opportunities

Who the academy supports

The Academy supports career starters, career changers and professionals who want practical coding capability. It also enables organisations and employment partners to commission structured technical development for individuals or cohorts.

From learning to application

Learners build working solutions, review code, correct defects and explain their technical decisions. The objective is to establish strong foundations that support further specialisation in software, web, data or automation roles.

Choose your programme

Compare the routes below. Each programme page explains its syllabus, practical work, career directions, certification information and researched salary context. Durations describe the individual pathways; an integrated route has its own curriculum and is not a simple total of the other routes.

Find your starting point

Choose a foundation route if you are building the core skills for this discipline. Professional and mastery routes develop deeper practice. An integrated route connects several areas of capability. Specialist and career accelerator routes focus on named responsibilities or career goals. Read the individual entry guidance and discuss your experience with our team before selecting a route.

Mentoring and practical evidence

Mentoring starts from day one. Apply your learning through the practical activities and project outputs described on your programme page. The academy pathways include six months of job-search support and three months of in-role support. Use your work to explain your skills in applications and interviews. Employment and earnings depend on your experience, evidence and employer requirements.

Certification and delivery

Programme completion, RDE recognition and external professional certification are different outcomes. Consult the programme page for the relevant routes and ask our team to confirm examinations, assessment, delivery arrangements and what is included before enrolling.
