Your practice reflection

Answer all six prompts using your recent practice. There is no pass mark. Your answers stay in this browser and are cleared on reset or reload.

1. I can describe a real task I completed and the situation behind it.
2. I can distinguish my own contribution from the work of other people.
3. I can show an appropriate example of my work without revealing confidential information.
4. I can explain a result and the limits of the evidence supporting it.
5. I can connect an example to a capability requested in a role description.
6. I can name a development gap and a manageable next practice step.

Use this reflection

Use six prompts to review the examples you could discuss in a digital career conversation. Identify one evidence gap and plan a small, honest practice task.

Think about your recent practice. Choose the rating that best matches what you can currently demonstrate, rather than the answer you would like to give.

Ratings and scoring

Answer all six prompts. Each answer contributes equally: 0 = not yet or unsure; 1 = started, but need support; 2 = can do this with some checking; 3 = can demonstrate this consistently. Total: 0–18. There are no right answers and no pass mark.

  • 0–6: Start with one practical habit.
  • 7–12: Strengthen consistency through practice.
  • 13–18: Review your evidence and maintain your habits.

These are RDE editorial reflection bands, chosen to group the equal-weight ratings. They are not validated thresholds, comparisons with other people or a diagnostic assessment. Two people with the same total may need different actions. Review your lowest-rated prompt first.

Questions and a practical next step

  1. I can describe a real task I completed and the situation behind it.

Choose a work, volunteering or study task. Write down the situation and what needed to change.

  2. I can distinguish my own contribution from the work of other people.

List your actions separately from the team outcome. Do not claim work completed by somebody else.

  3. I can show an appropriate example of my work without revealing confidential information.

Prepare a permission-safe example using fictional or anonymised material. Remove names and private data.

  4. I can explain a result and the limits of the evidence supporting it.

Record what changed and how you know. Separate measured results from your interpretation.

  5. I can connect an example to a capability requested in a role description.

Pick one current role requirement and explain the link using a specific action, rather than repeating a keyword.

  6. I can name a development gap and a manageable next practice step.

Choose one gap and a short exercise. Set a review date and decide what output will show progress.

Turn reflection into practice

Choose one suggested action from your lowest-rated prompts. On your own paper, record what you will try, when you will review it and what evidence you will look for. You may revisit the tool after practising. A changed self-rating is a conversation starter, not proof of improvement.

Limitations and data handling

You are reviewing the evidence you can explain, not predicting whether an employer will select you. All questions and scoring are original RDE learning prompts. The source below supports the topic, not the scoring system.

The interactive assessment processes answers in this browser only. It does not send your answers, store them in cookies or browser storage, or add them to an account. Reset clears the answers and results; reloading also clears them. The website still receives ordinary page requests. Do not enter passwords, client information or personal details. If JavaScript is unavailable, use the questions and scoring instructions above on paper.
