RDE NHS Digital Academy

The RDE NHS Digital Academy develops practical capability for working with digital services, data and change across health and care environments. Learners build awareness of patient-centred delivery, information responsibilities and the operational demands of regulated services.

Training connects digital methods with NHS workflows, stakeholders and service improvement. Learners examine requirements, data, governance, accessibility, safety awareness and implementation through realistic health-service scenarios.

Who the academy supports

The Academy supports career starters, career changers, health and digital professionals, NHS teams, suppliers and commissioning stakeholders. It is designed for people who need to contribute responsibly within health and care delivery settings.

From learning to application

Learners work through realistic service challenges, balance stakeholder needs and propose controlled digital improvements. The objective is to build professionals who understand that technology, safety, information and patient outcomes must remain connected.

Choose your programme

Compare the routes below. Each programme page explains its syllabus, practical work, career directions, certification information and researched salary context. Durations describe the individual pathways; an integrated route has its own curriculum and is not a simple total of the other routes.

Find your starting point

Choose a foundation route if you are building the core skills for this discipline. Professional and mastery routes develop deeper practice. An integrated route connects several areas of capability. Specialist and career accelerator routes focus on named responsibilities or career goals. Read the individual entry guidance and discuss your experience with our team before selecting a route.

Mentoring and practical evidence

Mentoring starts from day one. Apply your learning through the practical activities and project outputs described on your programme page. The academy pathways include six months of job-search support and three months of in-role support. Use your work to explain your skills in applications and interviews. Employment and earnings depend on your experience, evidence and employer requirements.

Certification and delivery

Programme completion, RDE recognition and external professional certification are different outcomes. Consult the programme page for the relevant routes and ask our team to confirm examinations, assessment, delivery arrangements and what is included before enrolling.

The NHS-focused academy is provided by RDE. Its name does not imply NHS endorsement or that an RDE completion award is an NHS-issued professional qualification.
